Your step-by-step guide to AuctionHunter

Through AuctionHunter you can bid on and offer merchandise nationwide, find bargains and meet other collectors in a way never before available. With a wealth of feature stories, expert advice and the latest auction-room news from around the regions, this is the place where deals are done. Its so simple and convenient to use that once you shop, you'll find its an entertaining, captivating and exciting way to buy and sell just about anything.

To begin, you'll need to register by simply filling out the online form including your e-mail address, which will serve as your user name. Complete this and you'll receive a special secure password to bid with.

Then, just click on any of the many category headings to start exploring the huge range of merchandise available. You'll see a current list of live sales in your selected category. A quick click on individual items reveals their full description and picture, if available. When you find an item you want to bid for, enter your ID, password and amount and let the fun begin!

If your bid is currently winning, it will appear against the item's listing after a few seconds. Each auction can remain open for up to two weeks, during which time you may get outbid, so remember to check this page frequently! In addition, you will be notified by e-mail if your offer is topped. To 'up the ante' just go back to the item listing, enter your ID and password and make a new bid and you can always ask vendors for further details by e-mail, to help you make your mind up.

If, at the end of the auction, you're the winning bidder, you'll receive confirmation by e-mail, along with the seller's details. As in a traditional auction environment, AuctionHunter never owns the goods on show. The deals you make are strictly between buyer and seller, but once your bid is accepted, the preferred etiquette is for sellers to contact buyers in order to organise payment details and delivery.

Shipping Costs are the responsibility of the buyer.  To avoid nasty surprises, you may want to check out shipping costs with any of the following sites.

Want to clinch the deal without being glued to your screen? You can, with AuctionHunter's RoboBid service. Simply set the maximum you are prepared to spend and RoboBid will keep you in the lead, by bidding on your behalf. Increase your pre-set limit at any time, but you'll never miss out as RoboBid sends an automatic e-mail alert if the price outstrips your limit.

To buy and browse you only need register, but to list or sell you'll need to open an account, to cover our very small listing fees. Once you have registered, go to Open an Account, enter your ID and password and make a credit card deposit. You can rely on our secure, encrypted transmission of your financial and other details, affording you maximum security and peace of mind. You will always retain secure and immediate access to this private, personal information after logging in, together with your account history.

Transactions are between peers, with AuctionHunter merely providing the channel through which to meet and communicate. Each time you post an item for sale, your minimum listing fee is calculated, plus a commission of 2 1/2 % of the minimum bid amount you set. If your balance covers this, your item will be posted. Otherwise, you will be re-routed to your own financial account page to replenish your credit before proceeding.

Follow the Selling Tutorial, which leads you through the 10 easy steps on the selling form.

Here, you'll choose an appropriate category and auction type for your goods and apply any enhancements and a picture if desired. You will be asked to choose a time frame and an opening price for your auction and this should reflect the minimum amount you are prepared to accept. That's all there is to it. With your item posted, it's time to sit back and watch the bids roll in!
