Richard Kiel is one of only
five recognised chess experts in the UK and will be happy to help with
your queries about chess sets. He launched his on-line business,
Chess
Collector a year ago and also runs an antiques busines with his mother
in Altrincham, Cheshire.
A love of the game has resulted
in a personal collection of around 90 rare chess sets from around the world,
but it wasn't until a chance find at an auction eight years ago that Richard
started dealing seriously. He said: "I bought a job lot for £11 because
I wanted one set - then sold the rest for £2,600. I never realised
chess sets were so sought after!"
Since then he has concentrated
exclusively on that side of the business and is a big fan of Internet auction
sites where he buys and sells.
