Paul Sassienie is an authority
in the field of American & British vintage (and new) comic books and
associated collectibles, which he has been collecting for nearly 30 years.
His book on the subject, "The Comic Book" (Ebury Press 1994), sold more
than 22,000 copies and was highly acclaimed both within the industry and
outside.
He has regularly appeared as
an "expert" on various BBC radio programmes, Sky News and BBC 2’s The Money
Programme and frequently hosts a phone-in comic-book surgery on both LBC
and GLR. In his capacity as Official Advisor, Paul has overseen revisions
of the American Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide and also to its British
counterpart.
Although he is primarily a
writer (not of comic books, but of radio and television comedy), he also
runs the UK's largest mail-order comic book company - Comic Biz. This specialises
in vintage items dating back to the comic's 'Golden Age' in the 1930's
in addition to an impressive range of newer comics and 'hot off the press'
