Cards & British Stamps
Robert Jermyn lives in Lancashire
and has collected G.B. and British Commonwealth stamps for more than fifty
years and cigarette cards for just over five years. Aged 57 and married
with two sons, he started dealing in stamps, postcards and cigarette cards
in 1994 when he retired from his career with the Midland Bank, where he
was a senior bank clerk.
For many years he served the
community as a local Councillor. On a hung council of 27 Conservatives
and 27 Labour, his lone Liberal Democrat voice was often a decisive factor
in important votes.
Today, Robert deals in
collectables of all kinds and has recently teamed up with a colleague to
launch 'Beanie Babies' from his own shop in Ormskirk and from Bygone Times,
Eccleston and Botany Bay, Chorley. A new company called 'Wyseowl Limited'
is being formed to cover this aspect of their business. The partners also
have an outlet at Heskin Hall, Eccleston from which they deal in collectables,
china, and small antiques.
